TWO Blackpool Expo leading ladies are competing for recognition in the North West’s largest women in business awards.
Nichola Howard of Launch Events North West, organiser of the Blackpool Expo, is shortlisted for the Enterprise Vision Awards Small Business of the Year.
The entrepreneur will be taking on last years ‘Retailer of the Year’ winner and Blackpool Expo exhibitor, Julia Eastwood from Artisan Tiles – who seeks to gain another title at this year’s event.
The awards see 109 shortlisted candidates across fifteen categories bid for the top gongs through interviews and public voting before the winners are announced on September 29.
Nichola said “It is an honour to be shortlisted alongside such inspirational female entrepreneurs, and is made all the more special to be recognised together with Blackpool exhibitor Julia- whose business Artisan Interiors has grown and developed with the Expo itself.”
“The Blackpool Expo event is in its third year, and with it being two days before the Enterprise Vision Awards we’ll be making sure the event tops its visitor numbers from last year and smashes the 400 mark to make it the biggest yet.”
Julia added: “I can’t quite believe I have been shortlisted for the Small Business of the Year award again. Having support as a woman in business from the likes of the Enterprise Vision Awards and Blackpool Expo makes such a difference not only to the business, but to me. I wish Nichola the best of luck.”
