The 2016 Blackpool Expo saw Nichola Howard from Launch Events as Cupid In Chief matchmaking my business with another as she knew I was keen to expand my roster of support services for hotels in Blackpool.
Deliberately placing my stand next to that of cleaning company Rag Tag Team, Nichola had already given owners Justin a gentle nudge, in that a little birdie had told them that I was looking to partner with a firm who I could trust to make Blackpool’s hotel rooms sparkle year-round in what is now the UK’s foremost 52 Week Resort.
The venture is one that required some fine tuning, but once the price, processes and general ethos of how we go about things was in place, it appeared that we were serving a much-underserved need in Blackpool, in that growth has been so quick that additional staff have had to be quickly recruited. All in all, we see it as unlocking suppressed demand and are proud that we have been the first to pursue the service for Blackpool hotels in this format, giving us the all-important first-mover advantage.
Hotels have the option to pay in cash immediately after each job or be invoiced monthly and appreciate this flexibility. Whether they just need a boost cleaning staff wise or – as is most popular – wish to have our team in on a regular basis, they are firmly in the driving seat, choosing from standard or premium cleans and add-ons such as beds made and corridor, stair and bar areas.
An example of a glowing testimonial comes from Wendy Murphy from The Holmeleigh who states:
“I needed somebody reliable and trustworthy to clean my rooms, without the hassle of employing someone. This service provides just what I needed – ring up, book, cleaners turn up, do the job, leave and then I’m invoiced at the end of the month. The team are very polite, get on with things and did a top class job and I will definitely use this service regularly.”
Recently Nichola and myself were in my Travel Agency and Ticket Office in South Shore (which also doubles up as a hotelier hub) when by pure coincidence, Justin also popped in too, having been to a neighbouring hotel in the Bond Street/Withnell Road vicinity. As you can see, we couldn’t resist a selfie of the three of us back together and keen to do it all over again with the 2017 Blackpool Expo in sight.
With Nichola having sown the seeds one year ago, I’m proud to say that our on-demand cleaning service for hotels continues to grow exponentially, which is in large part due to the pre-event preparation and thoughtfulness of the Empress of Expos.
